Are you joyful? Experienced? Reliable?

We are seeking sitters with “servants’ hearts” - those who care for our families like their own! Parents rely on us and kids look up to us, so it’s a responsibility we take to heart! The process to join Seminole Sitters involves thorough background checks and other screenings, so please be patient.

Required Qualifications:

  1. 4+ years consistent childcare experience and training, outside family/friends (e.g. babysitter, camp counselor, mother's helper, substitute teacher, volunteer in church nursery or VBS, etc.);

  2. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 1 month);

  3. Computer/internet access and basic tech skills (email, scheduling apps, Zoom, etc.);

  4. Willingness to work on a contract basis; and

  5. Punctual, reliable, trustworthy, and compassionate

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent;

    • Exception: We will accept a limited number of Junior Sitters. These are high school students with a driver’s license and transportation, babysitting experience, and willingness to complete CPR/First Aid and a certified babysitting course through Nurse Sharena or the American Red Cross

  2. Pursuing or holding a degree in a child-related field; and

  3. Valid driver’s license and your own reliable transportation with proper insurance.

    • In Spring, we offer a limited contract to serve clients in downtown Tallahassee. As long as you can reliably make it downtown to work, having a driver’s license or your own transportation is not required during those 2-3 months.

Typical Scheduling Needs in Tallahassee:

  • Weekdays, Year-Round: Prefer availability at least 2 weekdays/week (7:00 am - 6:00 pm)

  • Seasonal Needs:

    • Fall: Sitters for FSU home football games (extra pay)

    • Spring: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) for group childcare

    • Kids’ School Year (Aug-May): willingness to drive children after school (2:30 pm - 6:30 pm)

    • Holidays/Breaks: Babysitting needed during spring, summer, and winter breaks

While waiting for a reply, please review your availability over the next few months. We’re open every day except Sundays and would like to know your availability for FSU home football games, summer/holiday breaks, and upcoming semesters.

Thank you!
