Rates for In-Home Babysitting:
We handle our own taxes! Check with your accountant to see whether you can write off your childcare costs; at your request, we can provide a letter with our Tax ID stating your childcare expenses for the year. We have also qualified with many employers' FSAs for reimbursement of childcare expenses.
Our rates are $20/hour for one child and $3/hour for each additional child. There is a two-hour minimum. A flat fee of $20 for appointments outside of Leon County allows us to compensate sitters for the extra travel time.
We encourage families to share sitters! The kids love having their friends over to play and it makes childcare more affordable for parents. We're happy to split the bill between families. All families must be enrolled as clients before scheduling a sitter.
On some days, we charge a premium rate. Seminole Sitters pays our sitters a little extra for these days that they spend away from their loved ones; it also serves as incentive for them to be available on days that are in high demand. The premium rate is $30/hour for one child and $4.50/hour for each additional child. It applies to the full day. There is a three-hour minimum on premium days. The flat fee for appointments outside Leon County remains the same. These days are:
FSU home football games, as scheduled
Thanksgiving Day, the Wednesday preceding it, and Friday following it
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
Valentine's Day (exception: if weekday, premium rate begins 4:00 pm)
Labor Day
A one-time, non-refundable consultation fee of $50 will be charged when enrolling for the first time. This includes a complementary four-month membership to give you access to our network of award-winning sitters! Click here to enroll!
Other Helpful Information:
We recommend at least five days' notice for your childcare needs. The more notice we have, the more likely we’re able to book your favorite sitter!
We are closed on Sundays each week so our full staff can rest and reset for the week ahead. We've found that it's made us healthier and happier as a whole - it gives us time to catch up on homework, visit family, spend time with friends, or even share the occasional “sitter dinner” together.
Waiting List Policies:
All appointments are subject to sitter availability. We maintain a waiting list for both one-time and recurring appointments. There is no fee to join the waitlist for one-time or occasional bookings. However, for recurring needs, a non-refundable deposit equal to one week of care (calculated based on your family’s schedule) will be required to secure a spot on the waitlist. This deposit will immediately be applied as a credit toward any babysitting services. Once a sitter becomes available for your recurring need, you’ll be notified, and the sitter will be reserved for you.
