Background: I have been working with kids since I was 14 years old and absolutely love it! Throughout middle school and high school I was as a counselor for my church’s vacation bible school. While in my hometown, I also worked at a children's fitness center where I was a counselor at the gym’s summer camp for two years. Apart from this, I assisted in multiple fitness classes that were geared for children between the ages of 6 months and 7 years.
I was on a swim team for 6 years which provided the opportunity to help children ages 2 years to 6 years not only become more comfortable in the water, but also develop swimming skills.
Through the years, I have babysat children of all different ages from 6 months old to 14 years old. Since moving to Tallahassee, I’ve served as the literacy chairperson of my sorority and led group reading activities for school-aged children. I am currently an intern at Play Big Therapy here, in Tallahassee, where I work with kids of all ages and abilities. I love being around children and learning from their positive outlook on life! I enjoy helping them explore and learn through fun activities both inside and outside, all the while, keeping in mind that the number one goal of taking care of children is keeping them safe.
I have been trained in Seizure Recognition and First Aid by Epilepsy Florida.
On her own, she’s cared for children as young as: 6 months old
Future plans: I plan to graduate Florida State University with a major in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Psychology. After graduation I plan to get my associate degree in Radiology to become a Radiology Therapist. As a Radiology Therapist, I would love to specialize in pediatric radiology!
When she’s not babysitting: I enjoy spending time with family and friends either on beach or on the boat, fishing.
